If you keep buying books, attending seminars and watching videos to fix your problems, please STOP now to consider what you are doing.
How many tools with instructions do you actually need? Just one! Perhaps what will benefit you most are lessons on how to use that tool effectively. To truly appreciate the tool and its benefits, you must learn about the features and then master those to their fullest extent.
Every tool (whether it be a book, a tape, a video or a subscription) is filled with interesting, sometimes amazing information…unfortunately; you may NOT yet be capable of using the information as intended. You may become stuck with a bookcase full of instructions but have no practical way to employ them as suggested.
Most of the gurus that you have been listening to all do the same thing. They sell the same information, packaged differently to entice a vulnerable, naïve, starry-eyed and helpless audience who can ill-afford to buy another program, book, or attend another seminar.
Yet, they somehow always do! These folks are hoping for different results by doing the same thing…getting motivated for a short while and then giving up and going back to begin again; only now with less money, less belief, less trust and less hope. It’s up to you to use the resources provided to you! If not, it’s like going to the gym and expecting to gain muscle by watching someone else lift weights.
The thing is this: it just isn’t easy and most people are not emotionally or financially equipped, nor do they have the time or support to follow the instructions. There are few honest enough to spell it out. You won’t find a soccer coach saying, ”I’m going to teach you how to score a goal even if you don't know the rules, or how to dribble or kick yet.”
Good luck! One out of a million will have the discipline, self-belief and determination to go and learn the fundamentals. Even fewer still will then practice how to dribble and kick on their own, come back, pick up the ball where they left off and learn to score.
Instead of putting in the work, they will go and buy another book in search of the “easy” way. There is no easy way! Even if you are told there is, you will somehow ignore the somewhat obvious facts that negate that promise, and trod down the path of least resistance. Typically of course, the rewards reaped by this road do not have much longevity.
Don’t buy another book from someone who invests millions on figuring out how to sell you more info you can’t use! Focus instead on your actual capabilities, your current belief system and time management, your level of energy and your actual commitment to achieve your goals. This is when and where you will realize that there is work to do before you can do the work.
